Sporters club celebrates past winners
Community supports golf tournament.

EARLIER this month, 25 players teed off in the Wednesday sporters club competition.
The winner on 21 stableford points was Pete Bailey on a countback from great club supporter Ashley Lawson.
The Pinshots on 10 were won by Ron Booker, number 12 by Grant Armour, number 15 by Selwyn Nutley and number 17 by Noel Rogers.
Pete Bailey also had an eagle 3 on hole 16.
This year a perpetual trophy donated by the Bailey family is presented to the winner each week.
On Saturday, 32 players competed in a single stroke.
The winner was Doug Gray with a brilliant 65 nett.
Runner up was Joel Green on 69 nett on a countback.
Special mention of Ryley Parter who won the pro pin on number 15.
His dad Shaun did it a few weeks ago.
On Sunday 44 members and welcomed visitors played a single stableford.
It certainly was hot conditions for the dedicated afternoon players.
The worthy winner was Pete Eversham on 40 points.
Runner up was Terry Gusterson from Tieri on 37 points and third was Lewis Woods on a countback with 36 points.
The pinshots were shared around as: number 5 Noel Rogers and Trudy Morgan for the ladies, number 12 visitor Chris Lyon from Caboolture and Tricia Donaldson for the ladies which was a birdie 2.
Number 12 was Pete Bailey and Marilyn Stains for the ladies.
The pro pin was won by the lovely Sandra Nahow from Tieri and number 17 by the great Dave Morgan.
Both were close shots to tough pins.
Special mention of Keith McDonell who had an eagle 3 on 16. Great to watch.
This weekend, the junior golfers have their sign on day from 9am to 11am at the back of the clubhouse.
Junior coaching will start on Saturday February 20 at 8:15am.
Tomorrow is a single par or VSS and Sunday is the monthly medal proudly sponsored by Gary Deacon Builders.
