Rocky Bowls Club "will be back"
SINCE ITS closure in March due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Rockhampton Bowls Club continues to keep spirits high despite the lack of bowlers on the green.
In her July report, Rockhampton Bowls Club chairperson Beverley Johnston said the board have kept a close eye on information provided by the Government, but in the meantime, encourages bowling enthusiasts to minimise their stress by supporting locals.
"Our club has now been effectively closed for bowls, both social and competition, for almost four months and I, like many members, am eager to see our members out on the green," Ms Johnston said. "Quite a few have taken the opportunity to have a roll up under the restricted rules allowed by our Queensland Government and Queensland Health Department. Some have expressed frustration at not being able to play at least."
"We can all do our little bit to ease the stress on local businesses by shopping locally. Being kind to one another will make someone’s day, maybe even your own."
