A LOCAL club has held their annual competition event over the Valentine’s Day weekend, proving to be one of the biggest events yet.

Springsure Gun Club held their annual two-day shoot on February 13 and 14, bringing in “record numbers”.

President Sean Jensen said it was a good weekend and went very well.

“We had record numbers over the weekend with 143 shooters attending and competing on the day,” Mr Jensen said.

“We had people coming from far and wide for the clay target shooting.

“There were six events over two days, with four events being held on Saturday and the remaining two on Sunday.

“Springsure Gun Club wishes to thank all sponsors who got on board, as well as all volunteers and club members who made it run smoothly.”

The scores for the first day were: 47/50 to Shawn Ryan for the Double Rise 20 Pair, 29/29 to Richard Woolcock for the Bill Nixon Memorial 25 Single Barrel, 132/132 to Corey Tremlett for the Points 30 Target and 63/63 to Bruce Powell for the Double Barrel 30 Targets.
