Water Restrictions Tighten
WATER RESTRICTIONS to tighten in Central Highlands.

As of the 8th of October, water restrictions in Emerald, Blackwater, and Bluff will increase to level 2.
The restrictions apply to the use of urban treated and raw water and do not apply to rain, grey or private bore water, properties holding their own water allocations or license, and properties with council exemption.
There has been insignificant inflow into the Fairbairn Dam over recent months and so the restrictions were expected and predicted.
“We ask people to do all the smart things they are already doing and use water as wisely as possible,” Mayor Kerry Hayes said.
For more information and an in-depth guideline of the restrictions, visit the Central Highlands Regional Council website.
