Tieri freed from water restrictions
Water restrictions have been lifted in Tieri.
WATER restrictions in Tieri were relaxed as of June 7 and will no longer be the sole town in the Central Highlands to have contemporary water restrictions.
Tieri residents will be relieved to find that the water treatment plant has returned to full capacity and they can return to full water usages.
For half a year Tieri residents had to be wary of the timing and level of usage of their water according to the restrictions.
The town has been placed on a series of temporary restrictions after emergency works at the plant in late 2020.
Works to bring the plant back to full capacity were slowed due to part supply issues.
Council thanked the Tieri community and Glencore for being patient and cooperative during the process.
