Share the Dignity this Christmas with Its In The Bag
POVERTY and domestic violence are major problems for many Australian women. According to studies conducted by the Share the Dignity foundation, more women than men live below the poverty line.
The study found that, almost one in 10 Australian women in a relationship have suffered through domestic violence during the COVID-19 crisis, with two-thirds of these women saying the attacks started or worsened during the pandemic.
The study found that 60 per cent of people who were assisted by specialist homelessness agencies in 2018-2019 were female.
The Share the Dignity foundation has a handbag solution: It’s In The Bag.
The Share the Dignity foundation has called on Australians to donate a handbag which is filled with items that could make a difference in a woman’s life for Christmas.
In 2019, 134,392 handbags were collected for adults, teens, and mums.
